Under Cover Cowboy Overview: Romantic Intrigue set in South Texas. 7-6-07 Novel looking for a publisher.... Excerpt: A shadow from something overhead flitted over Sara Jane. She looked up at the circling buzzards and shivered. She was too far out for the scavengers to have zeroed in on a downed cow. Suddenly Demon rose and beat the air with his front hooves. Sara Jane clamped her knees tight and gripped the saddle horn. “What’s up, pardner?” Likely the buzzards made him as nervous as they made her. The smell of decaying flesh hit her nostrils before Sara Jane saw the body of a woman lying face down in the overgrowth of mesquite. Her skin prickled. “Whoa, boy, easy.” She dismounted fast and dropped her reins to the ground, knowing Demon would stay. Her eyes widened and a chill shot through her. From the back the woman looked just like her! Sara rubbed her arms against the creepy feeling of premonition. The putrid odor declared the woman was dead but to try to identify her and determine the cause of death, Sara Jane bent and turned her over. She screamed. The face was gone!
